Command Sergeant Major U.S. Army, Retired

CSM Andrew Winfree, a Parker-Gray graduate, enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1957, and received numerous commendations for his stellar service during his 35-year career.  He participated in the Entombment of the Vietnam War’s Unknown Soldier Ceremony.  Command Sergeant Major Winfree wrote the book Fire It, which chronicled the history of African-American artillery units in WW II.
