Educator / Principal

Christine Howard, a Parker-Gray High School alumna, was a progressive educator serving as the Jefferson-Houston Elementary School principal for 14 years. She was instrumental in instituting the Head Start program in the Jefferson-Houston School and the Alexandria Community YMCA. It is still one of the most outstanding Head Start programs in the country. She retired from the public school system in July of 1987.
